Notice Regarding Data Tracking, Preferences, and Browsing Information

We use cookies to make our website easier and more intuitive to use. The data collected through cookies is used to make your browsing experience more enjoyable and efficient in the future.

What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files sent by the website to the user’s device (usually the browser), where they are stored and then sent back to the website the next time the same user visits it. A cookie cannot retrieve any other data from the user’s hard drive, nor can it transmit computer viruses or collect email addresses. Each cookie is unique to the user’s web browser. Some of the functions of cookies may be performed by other technologies. In this document, the term “cookie” refers both to cookies in the strict sense of the term and to all similar technologies.

Types of Cookies on
Cookies can be first-party or third-party; “first-party” refers to cookies whose domain is the website itself, while “third-party” refers to cookies associated with external domains.

Third-party cookies are necessarily installed by an external entity—always referred to as a “third party”—that is not managed by the website. These parties may also install first-party cookies, saving their own cookies on the website’s domain.

Another type of cookie is the so-called “Flash Cookie” (Local Shared Objects), which is used within Adobe Flash Player to deliver certain content, such as video clips or animations, and to remember settings and preferences. Flash cookies are stored on the device, but they are managed through an interface that is different from the one provided by the browser you are using.

Nature of Cookies
There are several different types of cookies:

Technical cookies
Technical cookies are those used for the sole purpose of “carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide such service” (see art. 122, paragraph 1, of the Code).

They are not used for any other purposes and are typically installed directly by the website owner or operator. They can be divided into:

  • navigation or session cookies, which ensure normal navigation and use of the website (allowing you, for example, to make a purchase or log in to access restricted areas); these are, in fact, necessary for the website to function properly;
  • analytics cookies, which are treated as technical cookies when used directly by the website operator to collect information—in aggregate form—on the number of users and how they visit the site, in order to improve the site’s performance;
  • Functionality cookies, which allow users to navigate the site based on a set of selected criteria (for example, language, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided to them. Users’ prior consent is not required for the installation of these cookies (see the “Cookie Management” section below for more information).

Profiling cookies
Profiling cookies are designed to create user profiles and are used to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user while browsing the internet.

The consent of the data subject is required for the use of profiling cookies. According to the policy, users may grant or deny consent to the installation of cookies.

In the case of third-party cookies, the website has no direct control over individual cookies and cannot control them (it can neither install them directly nor delete them). You can still manage these cookies through your browser settings.
